In this article I will be guiding you through how to setup the Magical Make an Offer v1 app on your Shopify store.
Please note that these instructions are for the older version of the Magical Make an Offer app, available if you installed before September 27, 2023. If you’d like to upgrade for free, see “Installed the app before September 27, 2023?” below.

I have worked with Magical Make an Offer v1 for the past three years. I’ve put together these instructions based on my experience with the developers of the app and supporting users of the app’s service during that time period.
I will be outlining the basic setup instructions, along with how some features of this app work.
Installed before September 27, 2023? Upgrade to the latest version for free.
If you installed the app before September 27, 2023 and have not contacted the Magical Apps team to upgrade to Magical Make an Offer v2, your store is using Magical Make an Offer v1, the previous version of the app.

App Setup Instructions

For assistance with setup, contact the Magical Apps team once the app is installed. You may experience some issues with the visibility of our button on your store and this will most likely be related to a theme issue. Please contact our team to assist you with this.

Activate the Make an Offer button
You can enable the Make an Offer button through the app settings by:
- In the Make an Offer admin section, Clicking on Setup.
- Choosing the Incentive Configuration tab.
- Look Underneath the heading Step 1 – Product page options.
- Enable the Make an Offer button with the Button (Mobile and Desktop) option toggle.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.
Although we are compatible with most widely used Shopify themes and Apps, in rare instances there could also be a theme or conflicting app issue that is causing the button to not be visible. If you are having issues with the visibility of our button please contact our team.
Customize the position of the Make an Offer button
Please follow these few quick steps to adjust the button location of the Make an Offer app:
- On your Admin page, under “Sales Channels” click on “Online Store” and then “Themes“.
- Click on “…” button and then click “Edit code“.
- In the “Search files” box search for “products.liquid” and open the file.
- Find this code in the “products.liquid” file: <!– Start-MakeAnOffer version: 7 –><span id=”mf_button”></span><!– End-MakeAnOffer –>
- Once you have found the code then cut the code (not copy to avoid duplication) and then paste it wherever you want.
Display Make an Offer button when third-party app pre order buttons are showing or product is out of stock
- In the Make an Offer admin section, Clicking on Setup.
- Choose the Incentive Configuration tab.
- Ensure the “Pre Order/Out of Stock (Mobile and Desktop)” toggle is turned off.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.
Activate the Make an Offer exit intent pop-up
You can enable the Make an Offer exit intent for the product page by:
- In the Make an Offer admin section, Clicking on Setup.
- Choose the Incentive Configuration tab.
- Look Underneath the heading Step 1 – Product page options (to convert window shoppers).
- Enable the Make an Offer exit intent with the Exit Offer (Desktop Only) &/or Timed Offer (Mobile Only) options.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.
You can enable the Make an Offer exit intent for the cart page by:
- In the Make an Offer admin section, Clicking on Setup.
- Choosing the Incentive Configuration tab.
- Look Underneath the heading Step 2 – Cart page options (to convert cart abandoners).
- Enable the exit intent for with Exit Offer (Desktop Only) &/or Timed Offer (Mobile Only).
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.
Specify the Make an Offer button through SKUs, collections, or tags
You can chose to have the Make an Offer button visible only for certain products through SKUs, collections, or tags (also refer to Tutorial Video):
- Identify the SKU, collection, or tag attributed to the product you wish to have the Make an Offer enabled for.
- In the Make an Offer admin section, click Setup.
- Click on the Incentive Configuration tab.
- Scroll down to B. Select the products you would like to enable the above incentives on and access the drop down menu for options.
- Select Show only on product skus, collections, or tags selected below.
- Insert the SKUs, collections, and tags into the correct fields that are provided.
- Ensure that SKUs, collection, and tags are separated by a comma.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.
Automated offers
Automated offers can be set up by going to the app settings:
- In the Make an Offer admin section, click Setup.
- Select the Incentive Configuration tab .
- Scroll down to the Step 3 – Auto Respond heading.
- Use appropriate fields to specify the range of offers you are willing to accept.
- You can also chose to specify what price you would automatically counter with if offers are made out of that range.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.
Please note that you are able to set different rules for different products, but one product cannot have multiple rules created for it or else the function will not work properly.
Auto decline offers
If you don’t want to deal with low ball offers the Auto Decline feature will automatically reject offers below your specified price. In order to set up this feature:
- In the Make an Offer admin section, click Setup.
- Select the Incentive Configuration tab.
- Scroll down to Step 4 – Automatically Decline.
- Specify your price in the correct field.
- Toggle the Enable Auto Decline option.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.
SMS notifications
This feature is only available for American and Canadian numbers. You can receive SMS notifications for submitted offers and use your mobile device to accept/decline/counter these offers from anywhere you are! In order to set this up:
- In the Make an Offer admin section, click Setup.
- Select the Incentive Configuration tab.
- Scroll all the way down to the heading Step 4 – SMS notification where you can add your number.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.
Modify Make an Offer button/pop-up to match your store theme
The Make an Offer button and pop-up can be customized to match your store theme. In order to access these customization options:
- In the Make an Offer admin section, click Setup.
- Select the Look & Feel tab.
- Modify the pop-up and button from the various options provided.
- You can also use the advanced CSS option if you have the resources and capabilities for this.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.
Email customization
You can customize the emails that are sent to your customers by:
- In the Make an Offer admin section, click Setup.
- Select the Email Copies tab.
- On this page you can customize all of the email templates
- Make sure
- You can also use the advanced CSS option if you have the resources and capabilities for this.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.
Receive copies of customer emails
- In the Make an Offer admin section, Click on Setup.
- Clicking on the Email Copies tab where you will see buttons that can be toggled to enable this functionality.
Managing offer requests
The offers that your customers make on your Online Store are saved as offer requests which you can accept, decline, or counter.
Accept an offer request
- In the Make an Offer admin section, click Setup.
- Select the Offers tab.
- Find the offer you want to accept.
- Click the Accept button to accept the offer. This will initiate an email notification for the customer, informing them that their offer has been accepted. The email will also include a checkout link they can use to complete their order.
Set accepted offer expiration time
- In the Make an Offer admin section, Click on Setup.
- Choosing the Incentive Configuration tab.
- Look underneath the heading C. Select expiration of your offers and choose from the drop down menu to specify the time limit for expiring offers.
- This feature will disable the checkout link for accepted offers sent to customers once the specified time limit has passed.
Decline an offer request
- In the Make an Offer admin section, click Setup.
- Select the Offers tab.
- Find the offer you want to decline.
- Click the Decline button to decline the offer. This will initiate an email notification for the customer, informing them that their offer has been declined. You will have the option to add any additional text to the email if you wish before it is sent out.
Counter an offer request
- In the Make an Offer admin section, click Setup.
- Select the Offers tab.
- Find the offer you want to accept
- Click the Accept button to accept the offer. This will initiate an email notification for the customer, informing them that their offer has been accepted. The email will also include a checkout link they can use to complete their order.
Combined offers
If a customer has submitted offers on multiple products, accepting one offer will give you the option to combine any other offer they have made:
- In the Make an Offer admin section, click Setup.
- Select the Offers tab.
- Find the offer you want to accept.
- If the customer has multiple offers, this will automatically initiate a window for you to combine any various of those offers.
- Select the offers you wish to combine.
- Click Yes.
- In a new window, you can then decide to accept or counter the offers.
- Click Done.
Unarchive an offer
- In the Make an Offer admin section, Click on Setup.
- Click the Offers tab.
- Click the archive sub tab.
- Select the offer you want to unarchive and click UnArchive.
Google Analytics Events Setup
Yes. In order to use Google Analytics, you can go to:
- In the Make an Offer admin section, Click on Setup.
- Click on the Look & Feel tab
- Scroll down under the Customize the Popup heading to the Google Analytics Events subheading.
- Toggle the option to enable this and a field will appear where you can insert your Google Analytic Code.
